Taonui is a classic offshore cruiser-racer built by master boatbuilder John Lidgard for his own use. A new Volvo Penta 55hp diesel was installed in 2006 with approx. 900 hrs. She's triple-skin Kauri with a round bilge hull and has been consistently maintained. Taonui has competed in local cruising and racing in and around the Marlborough Sounds.
Accommodation includes two doubles and four singles, with full headroom in the two main cabins.
Navigation and electronics include a Garmin GPS, depth sounder, and wind instruments. She's equipped with a diesel cabin heater, gas Califont with cockpit shower, chart table and charts. Rigging was replaced in 2006, she carries a Reefrite roller headsail, mainsail bag with lazy jacks, and a basic sail wardrobe.
Antifouled in January 2025 and engine serviced September 2025. Comes with shore power, EWOF and an inflatable tender.
Toanui is well set up for both racing and cruising.
