Considered as a modern classic, Sojourn ll is a beautiful example of a Beneteau 473 set up for ocean sailing. Meticulously maintained with numerous upgrades throughout her lifetime across just two owners, this boat presents a wonderful opportunity to explore new horizons in safety and comfort.
Current owners sailed this much-loved boat from Europe to New Zealand in 2017 and have since enjoyed many adventures around New Zealand. She has been set up extremely well for offshore sailing with all safety gear for Category 1 standards, and the practical 3-cabin layout with L-shaped galley, ample storage and lee-cloths throughout is great for passage-making.
In 2020 a full major service was carried out on the engine which included reconditioned injectors, and new nozzles. Her well powered bow thruster, 100hp engine and feathering J prop make her efficient and maneuverable. In 2017 a noteable upgrade was the 210amp GENMAAX alternator which couples to a smart charging system with both battery and charging monitors. Rigging was replaced in 2017 and folding steps to the top of the mast fitted at the same time. A removeable inner forestay and running backstays is great for the working jib and storm jib, along with a rigid boom vang and carbon spinnaker pole.
A carefully planned sail wardrobe includes main sail, genoa, working jib on the inner forestay as well as a storm jib. A specialised tradewinder sail is an added feature - which unfurls like a code 0 but has Velcro opening in two parts like a butterfly wing - perfect for down wind sailing. Canvas work carried out in 2020 included new dodger, bimini top and clear drop curtains, with lewmar hatch and port lens also replaced.
Safety has always been a top priority for Sojourn II's current owners, who have always ensured smooth running of all the equipment and carried out any maintenance and servicing as required - offering peace of mind for it's new owners.
Mooring or marina berth, available upon request.
New antifoul and rudder bearing changed April 2024.
Sojourn II is available for viewing in the Bay of Islands and presents an opportunity not to be missed.
