Beale 33

Having emerged from a 17-month, 1500-hour keel-up refit, it is with a heavy heart that I must now sell to recoup some of the investment put into this yacht. Professionally built of strip-plank Cedar and heavily glassed inside and out, the Beale 33 is recognised as one of the best-performing, capable and comfortable 33-foot yachts designed and built in New Zealand.
The work carried out has been extensive and includes but not limited to a full refit and professional repaint in Awlcraft 3000 and Awlgrip non-skid surfaces. The mast has been stripped, repainted and re-rigged with over-size 8mm caps and 7mm dyeform lowers, new mast wiring and mast fittings inc VHF, LED lights and masthead transducer. New or recent deck hardware includes a new set of Spinlock jammers, Cule deck hatches, safety glass windows, new Selden rod kicker, recent oversized Harken winches x 6, new polished stainless beltings, Maxwell RC8 windless with deck and cockpit controls, new chainplate bolts, True design composite skin fittings and new 4mm lifelines. The dodger, bimini and connecting panel are all new in Sunbrella.
Electronics include B&G Zeus 7 plotter, AdvanSea speed, depth and wind, back-up Lowrance MFD, compass and 2 x Raymarine ST2000 pilots (one new and unused),
All interior surfaces have been re-painted including engine space, bilges and internal lockers and cupboards. All squabs have been recovered. Most plumbing has been renewed including all tapware, electric toilet, bilge pumps, holding tank macerator and shower-drain. The gas lines are new along with LPG solenoid and instant hot water heater. The oven was recently replaced and the 12V Isotherm fridge is new along with Brass Monkey 12V freezer. The stereo and internal and cockpit speakers and VHF are also new. All internal lighting has been replaced in LED including pelmet strip lighting and backlit splashback.
The 220AH house batteries are new along with new battery switches and leads, 200W and 80W solar panels and Victron blue-tooth controller and Victron 300W PSW inverter. The Yanmar 3GM30 on SD20 Saildrive has had a $12K head-off overhaul of the manifold and cooling system, valves, seals and guides, injectors, waterpump, exhaust elbow and all plumbing/belts. The saildrive has been stripped and serviced and the three-blade composite Kiwiprop stripped and serviced.
The sail wardrobe is extensive whether racing or cruising and includes FB main, #2 on Furlex, Code Zero on furler (off prod), staysail on furler, #1 light #2, gennaker with sock, PHRF spinnaker and storm jib.
Silver Eye is beautiful and built in the honest Kiwi way. The interior volume is unmatched in her class. With two doubles (saloon converts) and two singles, hot water, internal and cockpit shower and excellent refridgeration, everything is onboard for immediate comfortable cruising.
